Market House schedules Open House, begins Generations Unite Program

 


South Side Market House Healthy Living Center is having an Open House on January 20 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Those planning to attend are asked to register in advance so they will have a meal for everyone that wants to attend.

The Market House is starting a new program called Generations Unite. They will be collaborating with the Ormbsy Recreation Center’s after school program once a month to participate in a variety of activities.

The first Generations Unite will be January 27 from 4-5:30 p.m. The program will include an instructor leading participants through poplar line dances and a light dinner with sandwiches and chips. This is free of charge and all are welcome. Sign up in advance so they will be prepared.

A Chinese New Year POD Party at the Mt. Washington Senior Center will take place on January 27 from 12:30 -3 p.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Washington center so those who are interested should sign up. They will be doing a craft, a Tai Chi based exercise class and a special gift.

The Market House continues to offer exercise, art, music, and tablet (small computer) classes. There is a gymnasium and an exercise room full with exercise equipment. A hot meal is served everyday along with health and wellness activities.

The center has started Pickleball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Pickleball is a not too fast cross between tennis and ping pong.
