Pittsburgh’s Zoning Board of Adjustment has scheduled the following public hearings of interest to South Pittsburgh residents in the first floor hearing room of the John P. Robin Civic Building, 200 Ross Street, Downtown.

Zone case 325/16 on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m. is the appeal of Ken Slaby, owner and applicant, for 549 Southern Avenue in the 19th Ward (Zoning District R1D-H).

Applicant requests three-car parking pad at front of single-family dwelling.

Variances: 903.03.D.2: Minimum 15’ front setback required and 4’ requested; Minimum 5’ interior side setback required and 1’ requested; 912.04.F: Separation from building 3’ required and 1’ requested.

Notes: Certificate of Occupancy OCC 09-08702, dated 4/30/2011, permitted occupancy “16’x27.5’ open patio with roof at rear of existing 2½-story single-family dwelling with existing 8’x12’ storage shed and existing 6’ privacy fence both at rear.”

Zone case 420/16 on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 10:00 a.m. is the appeal of Atlasland and Building Corporation, owner, and Edwards Communities Development Corporation, applicant, for 2313 Wharton Street (parcels 12-G-164-0-1, 155, 160, 165, 178, 170, 168) in the 16th Ward (Zoning District UI).

Applicant requests to construct a multi-unit residential structure (320-340 dwelling units) with integral parking.

Special Exceptions: 911.02: Multi-unit residential is a Special Exception in UI zoning district; 904.07.C.4: Special Exception for height, 5.5 stories proposed; 907.02.J.5(b): 500’ building length limit in Riverfront IPOD, 536’ requested.

Zone case 345/16 on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 9:20 a.m. is the appeal of SWN Enterprises LLC, owner, and PS & R, applicant, for Arlington Avenue in the 18th Ward (Zoning District H).

Applicant requests four new single-family dwellings.

Variance: 905.02.C.3: Maximum area of disturbance 50% permitted; Maximum height 40’/3 stories permitted.
