The following are the Part I crimes for the week of: August 22nd, 2016 thru

August 28th, 2016.

Theft form vehicle/criminal mischief - 1400 blk. Fernleaf St. - between 8/23 at 10:00 PM and 8/24 at 12:00 AM – Victim states he came out to his car about 2 hours after arriving home and observed his right read window broken out. Taken from the inside of the car is a Michael Kor's bag and a clutch, an ipod, 2 credit cards, a sapphire ring and a make up bag. Value $882.

Theft from vehicle – Fernleaf at Eccles Sts. - 8/25 between 6:45 PM and 9:15 PM – Victim called to report her car broken into and her purse was missing. She said she did lock her car. However when she returned to it, her purse was gone. She went home to report the incident. A short time later, a resident on Eccles St. Found her purse and it's contents on his property. The victim went to Zone 3 and retrieved her purse and found nothing was missing. She mentioned that money which had been inside her vehicle was not taken. There was not sign of forced entry or damage to her car.

Burglary/criminal trespass/stolen auto – 2700 blk. Josephine St. - 8/28 between 5:29 AM and 5:33 AM – Victim states he heard a noise while he was showering and went downstairs to investigate. He confronted a BM juvenile suspect who then ran into the basement. This confrontation woke the other victim in the basement and he ran upstairs and they waited until police arrived. Officers cleared the residence and found a basement door open. Missing was a set of car keys which had been on a counter, it appears the suspect had taken them either prior to the confrontation or just after. Victim #1's car was taken by the suspect due to having the keys. A short time later, officers saw this car and a traffic stop was attempted. The driver/suspect fled from the car. The car was recovered.

Burglary – 2800 blk. Stella St. - between 8/27 at 10:00 PM and 8/28 at 4:00 AM – Victims state they arrived home to find their back door ajar. They discovered the send floor had been ransacked. Missing are a personal safe which contained $1100 in bills and coins, a Louis Vitton purse, a Macbook Pro, 50 pair of Nike Air Jordon's, 20 designer shirts, and 15 designer belts. Total value $37,251.

Theft from vehicle – 1000 blk. Mt. Oliver St. - between 8/21 at 6:00 PM and 8/22 at 6:00 AM – Victim states someone took the registration plate from his car while it was parked in front of his house.

Theft from person – 10 blk. Pius St. - 8/20 between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM – Victim states suspect took a package which had been delivered to his residence. Clothing and shoes were the items in the package. Value $300.

South Side Flats (1609, 1702)

Stolen Auto – S. 26th at Jane Sts. - 8/28 between 1:00 AM and 12:00 PM – Victim states his car was stolen. PA plate JGT6461, 1999 black Mercedes.

Burglary/stolen auto – 2300 blk. Sidney St. - 8/28 between 2:00 AM and 7:30 AM – Victim states he woke up to discover his cell phone missing. He then noticed his money and keys, which had been in the dining room were also gone. He checked and confirmed his car was taken. There were no signs of forced entry. Victim believes the suspect gained entry through an open window. PA plate HRL5062, 2010 gray Chevrolet Impala.

Theft (firearm) – 200 blk. S. 22nd St. - 8/24 between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM – Victim reports he hired two men from Craigslist to move belongings from a storage pod into a storage facility. When the men arrived, the asked for the cash up front, and were paid $200. The men/suspects walked outside for a smoke break and when the victim went outside they were gone. The victim reports missing are 2 units for flash underwater photography, a two wheel grinder, a laser level, and a .38 special Smith & Wesson revolver. Value $2,500.

Theft – 1700 blk. E. Carson St. - 8/23 between 4:25 PM and 4:29 PM – Victim reports two suspects came into the business. When she went to the back of the business, she came back to find the suspects gone along with her iPhone which had been sitting on a counter. Value $500.

Theft from vehicle (stolen plate) – 40 blk. S. 11th St. - between 8/23 at 9:00 PM and 8/24 at 1:00 PM – Victim states her registration plate was removed from her car. PA plate KCK1524.

Burglary – 2000 blk. Sarah St. - 8/24 between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM – Victim states when he arrived home, he found the kitchen window screen on the floor. He lives on the second floor. It appears the suspect gained access from a rear porch roof. Missing is a Samsung sound bar, a Macbook laptop, a Hugo Boss watch, a Fossil watch and various colognes. Value $1,400.

Theft/access device fraud – 20 blk. S. 10th St. - 8/24 between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM – Victim states he was entertaining 4 females/suspects in his hotel room. When they left, he started to receive text messages from his bank regarding transactions on his debit card. He discovered his watch, a wallet, his driver's license, debit card, and social security card were gone. Unk value.

Theft from vehicle/criminal mischief – 300 blk. E. Carson St. - 8/24 between 5:00 PM and 9:20 PM – Victim reports his vehicle had been broken into, by breaking the front passenger window. Missing is a black backpack containing an Iphone 6, Motorola tablet, and keys.

Burglary – 1500 blk. E. Carson St. - 8/25 between 2:00 AM and 4:13 AM – Reporting person states the daylight shift for the business came in to discover liquor missing. The manager checked the camera footage and saw the suspect, a former employee, came in through the rear door and grabbed bottles of liquor and leaving. The suspect returned and again took bottles of liquor and left. Missing are 7 bottles of various brands of liquor. Value $106.

Robbery (attempt – business) - 200o blk. E. Carson St. - 8/25 between 5:13 PM and 5:15 PM – Reporting person states two females/suspects, both approximately 18-20 y.o., came into the business. One left and the second stayed inside. The second suspect put a mask over her face and produced a black firearm under the bullet proof glass and told the employee to give her the money and she won't get hurt. The employee ducked down behind the wall and pushed the panic button. The suspects fled. No money was taken.

Theft – 1300 blk. Bigham St. - between 5/19 and 8/26 - Reporting person states items were taken during this time and believes it may have been the cleaning company. Items taken are an autographed hockey stick, a digital camera, and an Apple Mac mini and a 26"computer screen.

Robbery/Simple assault – 600 blk. Rear S. 10th St. - 8/24 at 1:38 AM – Victim states he pulled into a parking lot and parked to change his clothes. When he got out of his car, a WM suspect approached him and demanded money. He showed he didn't have any and the suspect told him to give him his keys. He did so. The suspect took the keys and drove away. PA plate JJN3404, Red 2010 Kia Forte. In addition, items taken were a wallet, credit cards, cell phone, messenger bag, knife, and medications.

Allentown (1803)

Theft from vehicle – 300 blk. Knox Ave. -between 8/22 at 9:15 PM and 8/23 at 8:45 AM – Victim discovered his car was unlocked and found the center console open and found the contents were gone. There was no damage to the vehicle, and the victim was certain he locked his car. Stolen was a wallet which contained a social security card, 3 credit cards, 4 gift cards and a LA fitness card.

Theft from person – 10 blk. Renwick St. - 8/26 between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM – Victim states suspect took 2 prescriptions out of her purse in her house. She believes it may be a known suspect.

Theft/Criminal Mischief/Access device fraud – 2000 blk. Spring St. - 8/23 between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM – Victim states someone stole her bank card and used it without her permission. Additionally, someone broke her windshield out. She believes it was an exboyfriend who committed these offenses.

Theft from vehicle – Arlington at Fernleaf Sts. - 8/25 between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM – Victim states someone went into his car and took his cell phone, driver's license, and credit card. Victim does not remember if he had locked his car or not. Value $550.

Theft from vehicle – 100 blk. Dawes St. - 8/25 at 5:48 PM – Victim states she observed someone inside of her car appearing as if he was going through her center console. She confronted him and recorded him on her cell phone as he was walking away from her. She called 911 and when speaking with the officer, she sent him the video she took of the suspect. She stated she thought he lived on the same street and provided a nickname. The officer drove around the area and spoke with a couple of neighbors and described the suspect giving them the nickname also. The officer was directed to a residence along with the suspect's full name. The officers went to the residence and met with the suspect, who fit the exact description provided by the victim and as seen in the video. He was arrested at his residence. Arrested was 48 y.o. Richard Reddington of Arlington.

Burglary – 2800 blk. Arlington Ave. - 8/28 between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM – Victim states he returned home to find his bedroom window open and the screen bent. Missing is $6 worth of change, a prescription, and 3 packs of hand rolled cigarettes.

Arlington Heights (1604)

Beltzhoover (1809)

Theft from vehicle – 500 blk. Gearing Ave. - between 8/27 at 11:00 PM and 8/28 at 9:00 AM – Victim states suspect gained entry into his vehicle while it was parked overnight and took items. Stolen area loaded Glock magazine, checks, a Garmin, and a set of house keys.

Burglary – 10 blk. Vincent St. - between 8/25 and 8/27 - Victim's son had been keeping an eye on the house while the victim was out of town visiting family. He noticed the television was taken when he came to check on the house. Entry had been made through the rear window.

Theft from vehicle – Boggs and Warrington Aves. - between 8/22 at 8:30 PM and 8/23 at 6:15 PM – Victim states suspect stole his registration plate from his vehicle while it was parked. PA plate KBW8365.

Burglary – 2600 blk. Brownsville Rd. - between 8/24 at 11:30 PM and 8/25 at 11:00 AM – Victim states suspect got into their residence and took a number of prescription pills out of bottles and cleared numbers on 2 cellphones. Victim believes it is an ex boyfriend who gained entry from the roof and side window.

Carrick (2901, 2902, 2904)

Robbery (business) – 1700 blk. Saw Mill Run Blvd. - 8/28 at 3:23 AM – Suspect ordered a customer at gunpoint to go behind the counter and get money out of the register. The customer did as ordered but could not get the register open. An employee had come out from the rear of the store and seeing what was happening locked herself in a supply room. The suspect fled on foot after the customer could not get anything out of the register.

Theft from vehicle/criminal mischief – 1300 blk. Nobles Lane – between 8/27 at 11:59 PM and 8/28 at 6:45 AM – Victim states suspect broke out her rear window and stole her bank card from the visor.

Theft from person – 1200 blk. Amanda St. - between 8/22 at 3:00 PM and 8/24 at 9:30 AM – Victim states she lives in a rooming house. She found items missing and believes it is a known suspect. Items stolen are a pair of flip flops, file folder with photos and personal papers inside, and paperwork from Family Court.

Burglary/recklessly endangering another person – 100 blk. Madeline St. - 8/26 at 12:50 AM – Officers responded to a call for a male with a gun in the residence. Upon their arrival, the male was gone. Victim #1 said they were all sitting in the living room with 6 other people when the known suspect entered into the residence through an open door. He was demanding the money he was owed, this being $350. The suspect did have a black handgun and pointed it at all of the victims. Victim #1 said she would go to the cash machine to get his money and went onto the porch and hid from him and called 911, as the suspect had stayed inside longer. When the suspect came outside he looked for the victim and then fled the area. Officers will be obtaining a warrant for the known suspect.

Theft from person – 900 blk. Brownsville Rd. - between 8/25 at 11:00 AM and 8/26 at 12:20 PM – Victim states her firearm was stolen out of her purse while she was taking a nap in her residence. The only people who were inside her home at that time was her nephew and his friend.

Theft from person – 100 blk. Kirk Ave. - 6/18 (reported 8/22) - Victim states he had allowed a friend to temporarily stay at his residence. After telling the suspect he had to find another place to live, he went to work When he arrived home, he discovered his dresser drawers open and items were missing. After checking with other people, the victim discovered the suspect fled to another county. Missing are a gold chain with a cross pendant and $3000. Total value $4000.

Knoxville (3001)

Burglary – 300 blk. Rochelle St. - 8/20 between 1:00 PM and 3:20 PM – Victim states a neighbor had notified her front door was wide open. After checking, she discovered 4 cameras were missing. Unk total value.

Theft from person – 200 blk. Bausman St. - 8/26 between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM – Victim states he left his lawnmower in the backyard and went to get gas for it. Upon his return he found it had been taken. Unk value.

Theft from person – 200 blk. Charles St. - between 8/19 and 8/26 - Victim states he usually leaves his bicycle in the living room. He discovered it missing and believes it had been taken by one of the housemates. Value $2000.

Theft from person – 200 blk. Reifert St. - 8/28 at 12:00 PM – Victim states an unknown female took his pack of cigarettes which had been sitting next to him on the steps.

Aggravated assault/criminal attempt homicide – Ibis Way at Rochelle St. - 8/26 at 1:19 PM – Officers responded to shots fired at the 100 blk. Of Rochelle St. Radio then directed them to the McDonalds where there was an accident. Upon their arrival there, they found the victim seated in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to the chest. He had driven himself to that location and crashed in the parking lot after being shot.
