Mt. Oliver City projects face challenges with vandalism and hit and run drivers

Last month, three of the four concrete benches that are part of the game tables at “Let’s Talk” at Mountain and Fisher were forcibly removed from their bolts/pins and placed on their sides.

Fortunately, the benches were not broken and neighborhood volunteers removed the fourth one in preparation to replace all four with concrete. The next day all four benches were put in their proper spots by individuals unknown.

The neighborhood volunteers have since replaced the benches with concrete.

Zone 3 police have been asked to investigate vandalism in the area including the damage to the benches; vandalism to the Little Library on the site: and, the damage to a light pole illuminating the flag at Mountain and Wagner when a vehicle ran off the road and collided with it.
