Pittsburgh’s Zoning Board of Adjustment has scheduled the following public hearings of interest to South Pittsburgh residents in the first floor hearing room of the John P. Robin Civic Building, 200 Ross Street, Downtown.

Zone case 190/16 on Thursday, July 14 at 9:10 a.m. is the appeal of John Bazari Jr., owner and applicant, for 215 Republic Street in the 19th Ward (Zoning District R1D-M).

Applicant requests 10 new single-family detached dwellings.

Variances: 903.03.C.2: Minimum 3,200 sq. ft. lot size permitted and 2,900 sq. ft. requested; 925.06.C: Minimum 3’ interior side required and 2’ requested.

Zone case 251/16 on Thursday, July 14 at 10:20 a.m. is the appeal of URA of Pittsburgh, owner, and Rothchild Collaborative Doyno, applicant, for 1816, 1818, 1820, 1817, 1819 Wharton Street in the 17th Ward (Zoning District R1A-VH).

Applicant requests five new three-story and mezzanine single-family attached dwellings with integral parking, front balconies, rear decks and rooftop decks.

Variances: 903.03.E.2: Minimum 5’ front setback required and 0’ requested (balconies and decks); Minimum 5’ interior side setback required and 0 requested (balconies and decks).

Zone case 286/16 on Thursday, July 28 at 9:20 a.m. is the appeal of Lance Gardenhire, owner, and Will Macon (prospective owner), applicant, for 77 Industry Street in the 18th Ward (Zoning District R2-H).

Applicant requests continued use of structure as three-family dwelling.

Review: 911.02: Review by the Zoning Board of Adjustment use of structure as three-family dwelling.

Zone case 285/16 on Thursday, July 28 at 9:40 a.m. is the appeal of UPMC Presbyterian, owner, and Kolano Design, applicant, for 3300 S. Water Street in the 16th Ward (Zoning District SP-5).

Applicant requests new 598 sq. ft. wall mounted business ID sign for UPMC Rooney Sports complex.

Variances: South Side Signage Guidelines: Maximum 400 sq. ft. in sign face area permitted and 598 sq. ft. requested.
