South Side attorney joins ACBA Board of Governors

 


 The Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) has elected South Side resident Ronald L. Hicks, Jr. to its 2016-2017 Board of Governors and Officers.

A partner at Meyer Unkovic & Scott, Mr. Hicks is a civil trial and appellate lawyer who for the past 29 years has worked closely with businesses and individuals on complex litigation, oil and gas disputes, and corporate and business matters, with particular service to the gay, lesbian and non-traditional family business community. He serves as co-chair of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group and as chair of its Energy, Utilities & Mineral Rights practice group.

Mr. Hicks also serves as a member of the firm’s Diversity and Technology committees.

 A graduate of Penn State University, he serves on the university’s board of directors for its College of the Liberal Arts Alumni Society. He also serves on the National Legal Industry Council for the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Hicks is involved in the ACBA, serving as a member of Civil Litigation Section, the LGBT Rights Committee, the Diversity Collaborative Committee, the Diversity and Gender Equality Ad Hoc Committee, the ACBA Court Rules Committee and the Judiciary Committee. He recently was inducted as a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County.
