Port Authority to operate Holiday Schedule

 


Port Authority riders should be aware of the following service details for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays:

Christmas Eve: All service will operate on weekday schedules. The Downtown Service Center and Customer Service phone line will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Christmas Day: All service will operate on holiday schedules. The Downtown Service Center will be closed, and the Customer Service phone line will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

New Year’s Eve: All service will operate on weekday schedules. The Downtown Service Center and Customer Service phone line will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Riders who intend to use Port Authority service to attend Highmark First Night Pittsburgh should check transit schedules ahead of time, as not all routes offer service after midnight.

Additionally, more than 20 bus routes will be detoured Downtown and the North Shore due to street closures related to Highmark First Night Pittsburgh events. Detours will begin about 10 a.m. and will stay in effect through the end of service.

From 4 p.m. until end of service on New Year’s Eve, children under 12 can ride for free when accompanied by a paying adult wearing a Highmark First Night Pittsburgh button.

First-time or infrequent riders should be aware that exact change is required for cash fares. Riders may wish to obtain a ConnectCard prior to boarding – visit http://www.ConnectCard.org for retail locations. A separate card is required for each fare-paying rider.

New Year’s Day: All service will operate on holiday schedules. The Downtown Service Center will be closed, and the Customer Service phone line will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
