Zone 3 police make arrest in Knoxville street robbery

 


Zone 3 police officers made an arrest in a street robbery that occurred near the intersection of Suncrest Street and Brownsville Road in Knoxville at approximately 7:08 p.m. over the weekend on Saturday, Aug. 9.

The victim, a 21-year-old black woman who lives in the neighborhood, was approached by two black men. One removed the woman’s cellphone from her pocket and they both fled on foot.

Officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Aaron James Hicks, 20, also from Knoxville, based on the description given by the victim.

Mr. Hicks was arrested and taken to Allegheny County Jail on charges that include street robbery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. When arrested, officers discovered a glass marijuana pipe, five empty stamp bags of heroin, and three stamp bags of heroin in Mr. Hicks’ pocket.
