Open house at the new ALEC in Allentown

On Saturday, May 17, The Brashear Association and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will celebrate the beginning of a new partnership.

The Allentown Learning and Engagement Center (ALEC), formerly known as the Allentown Pop Up, will offer an open house from 2-4 p.m. ALEC is located at 1206 Arlington Avenue. Refreshment and activities will be provided.

ALEC, a new collaboration of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and the Brashear Association, will offer such services as after school programs, summer camp for children, health and wellness information, job and career programs, literacy programs, family education, computers and internet access, as well as information and assistance. The new center continues to serve as a community resource, following the model of the Pop Up.

For more information, contact Renee Greenlee, education coordinator, at 412-431-2236 or rgreenlee@brashearassociation.org.
