Every parent knows two things when it comes to early education for their babies: one can never begin too early in life to guide babies on their path to a well-rounded education, and books can be a phenomenal means of doing so.
Created by a panel of local librarians and child development experts, the Best Books for Babies list is a nationally recognized guide for parents, teachers, and caregivers. It assists in selecting quality materials to share with babies aged birth to 18 months.
Best Books for Babies is a cooperative project of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, The Fred Rogers Company, and the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children. The Best Books for Babies Committee strives to identify books that will delight and engage both babies and the adults who care for them.
This year’s selections help parents introduce their babies to experiences revolving around different animals, colors, shapes, giving and asking for help, babies of different cultures, and exploring various actions, expressions, words, and sounds.
