Expect delays on Route 51 in Overbrook

 


Southbound lane restrictions on Saw Mill Run Boulevard (Route 51) in the City of Pittsburgh and Whitehall Borough, Allegheny County, began on Monday, April 7, weather permitting.

Single lane closures will occur as needed on southbound Route 51 Monday-Friday, April 7-11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Fairhaven Road and Stewart Avenue. Crews from Comcast Communications will conduct communication line installation.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area. Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting http://www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 680 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available by calling 5-1-1, and regional Twitter alerts are available on the 511PA website.

To help keep motorists informed as work on the Route 51/88 project continues PennDOT is creating an email distribution list for Route 51/88 traffic advisories and construction updates. Enroll by sending email addresses to stcowan@pa.gov and writing “Subscribe – Route 51/88” in the subject line.
