Circle of EKC camp is for grieving young girls

Circle of EKC is a free, weeklong summer camp program for girls ages 9 – 14 who have experienced the death of a parent at any time during their lives.

Circle of EKC will take place this coming summer at the Emma Kaufmann Camp in Morgantown, West Virginia from August 17 – 22. The camp is free for campers and transportation will be provided from Morgantown, West, VA and from Pittsburgh.

Circle of EKC is the fourth camp program launched by Circle Camps for Grieving Children. Their first camp was founded 12 years ago in Sweden, Maine at Camp Tapawingo. They also have programs in New Hampshire and California.

Their mission is to offer grieving young girls the adventure and fun of living and playing together at overnight camp, while providing a supportive environment in which they can share their grief.

Regular summer camp activities are just part of Circle. The program is unique in its integration of grief activities throughout the campers’ week. To be able to speak and cry about their losses, surrounded by the Circle community, is the greatest gift Circle gives to its campers.
