So. Side Spring Cleanup will be the 10th annual

The 10th Annual South Side Spring Cleanup will be held on Saturday, April 12 and will focus on the cleanup of the South Side Flats and Slopes.

This year’s cleanup will include a number of different projects that range from litter pick up to graffiti removal on the South Side Flats and work in the South Side Community Garden at Bandi Shaum Field. The cleanup is organized by Duquesne University Spiritan Campus Ministry, in a partnership with the Pennsylvania Resources Council.

Community volunteers are needed, so all area residents are urged to mark their calendars and come out to help.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Meeting place will be the parking lot at 18th Street and East Carson. Registration and refreshments will run from 9:30 to 10 a.m.

Clean up activities will begin by 10 a.m. and be followed by a free lunch for volunteers at the 18th Street and East Carson parking lot that will run from noon to 1p.m. and feature the offerings of local restaurants.

For more details or to volunteer for the event, call Sarah Alessio Shea at the Pennsylvania Resources Council at 412-488-7490 ext. 236 or email saraha@ccicenter.org.
