Market House Active Living Center has programs for seniors
Edward McCardle, Ronald Bopp, David Stipe, Milton Jones, Kenneth Holzer and Charles Kehren help serve the lunchtime meal at the South Side Market House Healthy Active Living Center once a month on Men's Volunteer Day.
The South Side Market House Healthy Active Living Center has started a Men's Volunteer Day the first Tuesday of every month from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The men gather and serve the lunchtime meal to the group that day. They really enjoyed their time and look forward to March 4, which will be the next Men's Volunteer Day.
In addition to Men's Volunteer Day, there are some new activities being presented at the Market House. Both Chair and Hatha Yoga will be offered starting in the beginning of March. For those who have been interested in African Drumming Classes, they are also a new addition to the activity calendar in March.
The center continues to go on weekly trips for shopping, sightseeing and entertainment in addition to the regular activities including exercise, ceramics and computer class, as well as their state-of-the-art exercise room and computers with internet. A hot lunch is served for only a 50¢ donation and coffee is provided all day for 25¢.
The Market House is a great place for adults 60 years and over to meet people and have new experiences with no registration fee. For information on these activities and more call 412-488-8404 Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
