Police ask for help in solving pair of Knoxville homicides

 


Pittsburgh Police homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Knoxville on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Jason Eubanks, 36, and Cheralynn Sabatasso, 36, were found shot to death in a car near the intersection of Grimes Avenue and Zara Street. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Zone 3 officers were dispatched at 7:36 p.m. for a 911 report of shots fired at 545 Grimes Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Ms. Sabatasso in the driver seat with a gunshot wound to the head. Mr. Eubanks was in the front passenger seat also with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators believe the shooting occurred inside the car.

The police have not determined a motive for the shooting, and no suspects have been identified.

“I have every ounce of faith that our police force will find those responsible for this crime,” said Mayor William Peduto in a prepared release. “We need the community to come forth with any information that may aid in this investigation to bring about a swift conclusion.”
