Allentown seniors celebrate Polka Dot Day with a party

Allentown Senior Center celebrated Polka Dot Day, January 22, with a party. Polka Dot Day? Who knew?

Polka dots were given to those who didn't have any, but most of the nearly 50 people in attendance on a 2-degree temperature day had dots everywhere.

Special polka dot games, prizes and snacks were the hit of the party, as well as pictures taken by the 'polka dot tree.'

And what would a Polka Dot party be without the Polka? Participants danced the polka in place of the usual exercise program. True to one of the polka dot signs displayed, "Keep Calm and Rock the Dot," participants at the Allentown Senior Center Polka Dot party clearly rocked the dot.

Monthly parties and many other activities are scheduled for Allentown Senior Center (must be 60 years old to attend free events, which include a free lunch). They include: Chinese New Year Party, January 31; Valentine's Day Party, February 14; Line Dance Classes (free), Mondays in March and April.
