Liquor license saturation topic in S.S.

The South Side Community Council is planning its “Second in a Series” public safety meetings on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Brashear Center, 2005 Sarah Street.

The topic for this session is the saturation of liquor licenses on South Side and its effect on South Side residents.

State Representatives Harry Readshaw and Jake Wheatley, along with Senators Wayne Fontana and Jay Costa, have been invited to attend. There will also be a representative from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board in attendance.

Councilman Bruce Kraus will present data related to the topic and the legislators will have an opportunity to share what they have done at the state level to address the issue.

Residents who are interested may share their concerns but will be limited to two minutes each. It is suggested they bring something in writing to be given to the legislators.
