On November 1 at about 1:30 a.m. while on patrol in the South Side Flats, Zone 3 police officers were flagged down by a man who reported he had just been assaulted in the 1600 block of East Carson Street.

The victim was visibly injured and had a bloody mouth. The police reported it appeared a large number of his lower teeth had been knocked out and one was crooked with a root visible.

A Medic Unit responded to check the victim but he refused transport to UPMC Mercy Hospital and stated he would drive himself.

The victim told police one of the suspects had acted inappropriately towards his girlfriend, reaching under her skirt.

After the assault, the two suspects ran from the area.

Zone 3 plainclothes officers Morosetti and Weger conducted an investigation and were able to retrieve surveillance footage of a suspect.

Anyone able to identify the actor in this footage is asked to contact Zone 3 plainclothes detectives Morosetti or Weger at 412-488-8330. Callers may remain anonymous.
