Christmas Bake Sale benefits South Side church food pantry

Holy Assumption of St. Mary Orthodox Church is welcoming the help of one of America’s premier executive pastry chefs, Chef Aron Michael Lesko, son of Archpriest David Lesko of Duquesne, and several executive chef colleagues who have offered their time and talents to support the St. Cyril of White Lake Food Pantry at the church.

Chef Aron and his colleagues are conducting a Holiday Pastry Sale to support the food pantry. They are utilizing age old ethnic recipes and are offering nut, poppyseed, apricot and lekvar kolachi (rolls); plain and raisin paska, and pumpkin rolls. Advance orders are required, and order forms can be obtained by contacting the Church at 412-431-6428. All orders must be placed with Igumen Patrick by Sunday, Dec. 15.

All pastry will be available at Saint Mary’s on December 20. Proceeds will be used to help underwrite the operational expenses of St. Cyril of White Lake Food Pantry which provides food assistance to those in need on Thursdays from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at Holy Assumption of St. Mary Orthodox Church, 105 S. 19th St., South Side.
