Pittsburgh police seized drugs and firearms from a Mount Washington house late last week.
On Friday, Nov. 22, at 1:40 p.m. plainclothes detectives from Zone 3 executed a search warrant at a house in the 200 block of Hallock Street with assistance from the SWAT team.
The detectives recovered a total of 24 firearms including assault rifles, pistols and shotguns. Several of the weapons contained suppressors and had scopes attached. Also recovered were thousands of rounds of ammunition, body armor/tac vests comparable to what is used by law enforcement or the military, along with five different types of narcotics.
SWAT operators and the detectives found weapons strategically placed throughout the residence in several different rooms including under couch cushions, next to his bed, on his nightstand, etc. There were a total of 88 exhibits packaged and sent to either the crime lab or the property room.
Arrested was Jonathan David Richter, 26, identified as the owner of the home and the only person present during the execution of the warrant.
Mr. Richter was transported to the Allegheny County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession w/Intent to Deliver, Paraphernalia (Use of Possession) and Sale of Firearms.
Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Firearms Tracking will investigate the firearms.
