City announces official trick-or-treat hours
The City of Pittsburgh’s official trick-or-treat hours will be on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to visit the city’s user-friendly Halloween webpage to find festivities hosted by community and church groups in their neighborhood, and to download a printable safety guide that includes activity sheets for children.
“While Halloween is a fun, festive time in Pittsburgh, it’s important that everyone works together to help keep our children safe,” Mayor Luke Ravenstahl said. “Drive cautiously, remain alert and encourage safety in your neighborhood. Our Halloween safety guide includes helpful and interactive information that will teach young people the importance of trick-or-treating safety. Together, we can make this Halloween a treat for all residents.”
Community and church groups throughout the city will host parties, parades and other family-friendly festivities for all ages throughout the weekend.
Groups that register their event on the City’s 2013 Halloween webpage, pittsburghpa.gov/publicsafety/halloween, will receive Halloween activity brochures for the children attending their event, as well as special recognition from the Mayor for their efforts in keeping Pittsburgh safe on Halloween. Also on the site, residents can use an interactive map to easily search for registered events in their neighborhood.
