Science center offers classic Halloween sleepover and almostovernighter

Carnegie Science Center welcomes families, Scout troops, and other interested groups for a night of awesome science activities during one of their classic Science After Dark events.

On Friday, Oct. 25, the Spooky Science Sleepover provides a great prelude to Halloween. Get into the Halloween spirit with science activities, an Omnimax movie, and planetarium show. Science Center sleepovers are $35 per person and include an evening snack and continental breakfast the next morning.

The cost of parking is included, and attendees enjoy free admission the next day to the main building, Highmark SportsWorks®, and the USS Requin submarine.

Those families with young children not quite ready to spend whole the night should check out the Jammie Jam on Friday, Nov. 1. For $15 per child and $10 per adult, kids ages 2 to 6 can enjoy special make-and-take activities, a live theater show, and story time. The program runs from 5:30 to 9 pm, and kids are encouraged to come in their pajamas!

Advance registration is required for these programs. To register, call 412-237-1637. For more information, visit and click on Programs.
