The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police will be conducting Aggressive Driving Enforcement during the next two weeks, from September 16 until September 27.
The additional enforcement is in association with the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project, which is funded by the PennDOT investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. (NHTSA).
The enforcement will occur on State Route 837 and State Route 8, within the city limits. These enforcement corridors are selected based on aggressive-driving crash data using the NHTSA definition (at least two aggressive driving factors in the crash). The enforcement targets motorists exhibiting aggressive-driving behaviors such as running red lights and stop signs, speeding and tailgating.
