On Saturday, Sept. 21, Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania will say “thank you” to South Side area residents for their generosity in the past and also ask them for additional donations with a festive Donation Celebration event at its store at 2700 East Carson Street.
Featuring complimentary refreshments, music and prizes, the Donation Celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On this day only, donations will be taken in the Goodwill store parking lot at 2800 East Carson Street.
Robert Stape, Vice President of Retail, said Goodwill currently needs donations of clothing, housewares, shoes, computers, electronics, and sporting goods. “We deeply appreciate the support we receive throughout the year, but donations always slow down during the summer, so please bring your donations to the South Side store on September 21 and encourage others to remember Goodwill during this back-to-school season.”
Mr. Stape said the South Side Donation Celebration is one of several that have been conducted at selected Goodwill stores during the summer. “These events are a way for us to show our appreciation for the great donations we receive from all over the region and also to make a special appeal for additional donations right now.”
