Assistive technology information at open house

Employers, human services providers, and interested individuals are invited to learn about the accessibility features built in to Android and iOS mobile devices at an Assistive Technology Open House at the Goodwill Workforce Development Center in Lawrenceville on Wednesday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No registration is required for the event which also will feature apps that assist cognitive processes, such as attention, planning, and time management.

“Stop by when it’s convenient for you and check out what may enhance your life at work, at home, and on the go,” said Adrienne Tolentino, assistive technology specialist with Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania. “Everyone is welcome to view videos and live demonstrations, to personally try out the devices and apps, and to take home information about some of the latest apps and where to find them.”

The Goodwill Workforce Development Center is in Lawrenceville at 118 52nd Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.

For more information, contact Adrienne Tolentino at adrienne.tolentino@goodwillswpa.org or 412-632-1877, or Taylor Popelas at tnp14@pitt.edu.
