St. Basil Summer Festival coming July 22-27

 

Gone South will play a free all ages show on Friday evening, July 26, at the St. Basil Parish Summer Festival. The festival will take place from July 22-27.

The annual St. Basil Parish Summer Festival will take place on the church grounds, 1735 Brownsville Road, Carrick, on July 22-27.

The festival will feature games, rides, drawings, a children’s area, entertainment, attractions and refreshment booth from 7-10 p.m. A Flea Market will open each evening at 6 p.m. in the church hall.

Southern Rock band Gone South performs a free all ages show on Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m.

Gone South was formed by Rich Gruendl from Allentown and Tim Palmer from Knoxville. They are not only known for their performances of cover tunes but have been recognized for their original music as well.

This year, the band was a finalist in in the Hard Rock Rising 2013 for Pittsburgh competition for their original song “Can’t Believe It.” They competed against bands from Maryland, West Virginia and Erie.

The other members of Gone South are: Ron Stone on bass, Dave Vincze on guitar, Dan Vasko on drums and Dan Hosek on keyboards and keytar.
