County Parks Department releases '2013 Fun Guide'

The Allegheny County Parks Department has released the “2013 Fun Guide,” listing many of the events, activities and programs taking place this year in its nine regional parks.

The guide includes concerts, nature programs, movies, sports clinics, plays, athletic events, classes, historical tours, fundraisers, and other special events. The vast majority of activities are free of charge.

“County Executive Rich Fitzgerald’s goal is to have something going on in each of our nine parks every day of the year, and we are well on our way to accomplishing his vision,” said County Parks Director Andy Baechle. “The Allegheny County Parks are unique assets that provide a wide variety of sporting, leisure, cultural and entertainment opportunities for people of all ages, abilities and interests. I encourage everyone to take a look at the guide and take advantage of the fun.”

The 2013 Fun Guide is available in PDF format at http://www.alleghenycounty.us/parks/FunGuide.pdf. Printed guides will be available soon in all nine county parks, as well as many Allegheny County offices.

Since new events are added daily, the Parks Department will issue a weekly schedule of activities via email through Labor Day. To receive the weekly updates and other Parks Department news and information, sign up online at http://www.alleghenycounty.us/newsroom/RequestNews.aspx.
