Rain Barrel/Watershed Workshop

 


Pennsylvania Resources Council in partnership with the Propel Pittsburgh Commission will present a Rain Barrel/Watershed Workshop from 6-8 p.m. on June 13 in City Council Chambers, City-County Building, Fifth Floor, 414 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

At the workshop attendee will learn how to harvest rainwater from their roofs, store it, and use it in the landscape; Learn how to reduce individual contributions to combined sewer overflow (CSO), flooding, and polluted urban runoff; and Learn how to practice watershed protection and conservation in everyone’s own backyard.

PRC’s Watershed Awareness/Rain Barrel Workshop will raise awareness of watershed issues, demonstrate how to assemble and install a retrofitted 55-gallon drum/rain barrel, and introduce other rainwater harvesting options.

Participants will receive the necessary hardware to assemble and install a rain barrel for rainwater harvesting and on-site usage. They will also receive a 55-gallon drum complements of Coca-Cola.
