The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Graffiti Task Force has cleared 14 cases valued at $17,000 and resulting in eight adult arrests, $12,200 was payable to the city.
The task force finished with eight graffiti arrests over the last two weeks, matching the total arrests for all of last year.
In South Pittsburgh, three men were arrested for vandalizing the Grandview Park water tower doing an estimated $2,000 in damage. Arrested were: Michael McCoy, 24; Tyler Sill, 19; and, Todd Rupp, 22.
The three men applied a large amount of graffiti to the Grandview Park Water Tower. Their graffiti was “BEASTER” and character graffiti.
Mr. McCoy is a probation/ parole violator and was sent back to state prison. The three suspects were all arrested by summons.
Officers from the Graffiti Task Force have been reassigned to fill the vacancies in the zones. The duties and responsibilities of the Graffiti Task Force will now be handled by the detectives in the Intel Unit.
