The special meeting called by the Mount Oliver Borough Council on Wednesday, April 24 was long on waiting and short on businesses.
The meeting was called to approve a real estate transaction with First National Bank for the former bank building at the corner of Arlington Avenue and Brownsville Road. Attending were council members Corey McGough, Darnell Sains, Vanessa Talley and David Lowe. Absent were Billie Michener, Christine Brendel and John Smith.
After calling the meeting to order, Mr. McGough immediately went into exective session. Following the 40 minute executive session, Mr. McGough called the meeting back and in order and said they wouldn’t be voting on the land purchase.
He explained bank representatives were not communicating and the wrong documentation had been produced for the purchase.
Mr. McGough said the council would either vote on the purchase at the next regular public meeting on May 20 or another special meeting would be called.
