Jonathan Mulick earns awards at Science and Engineering Fair
Jonathan Mulick of Mount Washington earned honors at the Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair at Heinz Field on April 5.
Jonathan, a student at Bishop Canevin High School, earned Sponsor Awards from the American Chemical Society, Pittsburgh Section; Extrel CMS; PPG Industries, Inc .; the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh; and, the University of Pittsburgh. He also earned the Third Place Senior Division and Associate Scientist Perseverance awards.
His project was: The Efficiency of Dye Sensitized Solar Cells using Native Plant Dyes and Carbon Nanotubes.
More than 1,000 students from over 100 schools across western Pennsylvania and Maryland competed for $1,000,000 in cash prizes and scholarships at this year’s Carnegie Science Center’s Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
Selected high school winners from the regional competition will represent the region at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair, May12-17 in Phoenix.
