Crews will be closing Carson Street, State Route 837, between Becks Run Road and Glass Run Road, State Route 885, beginning on Friday, April 19, at 7 p.m. through 6 a.m. on Monday, April 22.
Signs will be directing motorists traveling eastbound on Carson Street to use the Hot Metal Bridge to Second Avenue (State Route 885) to the Glenwood Bridge as the preferred detour. Westbound motorists on Carson Street, starting at Glass Run Road, will be directed to use the Glenwood Bridge to Second Avenue to the Hot Metal Bridge.
The road closure is in support of the demolition of Pennsylvania American Water’s Becks Run Pumping Station. The retired pumping station was replaced as part of Pennsylvania American Water’s approximately $101 million upgrade taking place at its Pittsburgh area water treatment facilities.
