Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak, 33, has been appointed the new state director for the Young Elected Officials Network, a national organization devoted to recruiting and supporting young elected officials at the local, state and national levels of government.
The councilwoman’s new post places her at the forefront of efforts to identify and connect young leaders across Pennsylvania, and provide them with model policies and training resources offered by the YEO Network.
“These days, young elected officials come into office, and are quickly faced with the challenge of addressing their constituents’ modern concerns amidst entrenched politics, and ‘business as usual’ attitudes. Sharing innovative policies, successes, and skills with one another can go a long way toward addressing the issues our residents face, without reinventing the wheel.”
As the Councilwoman for Pittsburgh’s 4th District, Ms. Rudiak looks forward to sharing her own successes in drawing new public and private investment to the area, and innovative strategies for improving public safety.
She has brought $44.2 million in private investment for new senior residences, at least $68.8 million in transportation infrastructure improvements, and dozens of community partnerships to South Pittsburgh.
