Movies and Martinis benefits Women in Film and Media

Women in Film and Media’s “Movies and Martinis” will be an evening brimming with fun, excitement, and opportunity.

The event will be held at the historical Hollywood Theater, 1449 Potomac Avenue in Dormont, on April 24. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the celebration will continue until 9:30 p.m.

Movies and Martinis - and there will be martinis - will bring the Pittsburgh media community together to view an international film showcase, featuring short films chosen from 40 women in film chapters from around the world. Furthermore, it will be a celebration for the awardees of the Women in Film & Media Scholarship, the Point Park University Scholarship, and the Amy Lamb Memorial Scholarship.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and much more. Guests will also enjoy heavy appetizers, unique specialty martinis and wine, and will have the opportunity to purchase theater concessions.

Tickets can be purchased at wifmpit.org. They will cost $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Tickets are available at the door for $45. Tickets must be purchased online by midnight April 22.

No persons under the age of 21 will be served alcohol and will have to present current ID.

Women in Film and Media is a nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to improve the status and portrayal of women in film, television, and other screen-based media in Southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond.
