Uptown man arrested for robbing South Side bank

The Pittsburgh Police Robbery Squad has arrested Dale Richard Schaffer, 24, from the Uptown area in connection with the robbery of the PNC Bank – South Side Branch.

On March 14, Mr. Schaffer is suspected of robbing the PNC Bank in the 2600 block of E. Carson Street. Police officers responding to the scene were by a bank employee who reported a white male entered the bank and demanded money. The suspect handed the employee a note reading, “this is no joke, this is no 911 don’t push any buttons or I’ll blow you away.”

The employee complied handing the actor an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect left through the front doors. No weapons were observed and no one was injured.

The Robbery Squad had an outstanding warrant for the Mr. Schaffer, who was arrested on South Side on March 27. He was taken to Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Headquarters on Northside for interviewing and then transported to the Allegheny County Jail. He was charged with robbery.
