With acid wash jeans, shoulder pads and leg warmers, the 80s were scary.
Help Steel City Secret Cinema bring them back from the dead with its second installment of a blend of local art and cinema at Dormont’s Hollywood Theater on Friday, April 26.
Modeled after the Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse’s Weird Wednesdays, Secret Cinema is a once-in-a-while mystery movie screening that features artists, food, and live music.
Guests 18 years of age and older will experience the mystery movie, an exhibit from artists inspired by 80s cinema, music from local DJ duo Tracksploitation, food and drinks. Poster pass ticket holders also will receive a signed and numbered limited edition 24x36 movie poster from artist Matt Ryan Tobin.
Secret Cinema’s first installment brought more than 125 people to the Hollywood Theater for a screening of “Slapshot” and artwork inspired by films produced in western Pennsylvania.
General admission is $15 and comes with one raffle ticket and one drink ticket.
Poster pass tickets are $35 and come with one raffle ticket, one drink ticket and one poster.
The “Date Night” package is $45 and comes with two admission, two raffle, and two drink tickets, and one poster.
And the $50 VIP Date Night package is comes with two admissions, five raffle, and four drink tickets, and one poster.
Prices at the door are $5 more.
