Obama is a PPS city-wide magnet school for students in grades 6 to 12 with an International focus. The swim team joined the WPIAL this season in class AA after being in the city league all prior years. The boys squad had an undefeated season and won its section. At the WPIAL meet the team set two new city records with the help of Erik Rauterkus as well as a handful of varsity records. Erik Rauterkus and his coach and father, Mark, will go to Bucknell University this week for the PIAA Championships. This is the fourth time Erik represented the city at that meet, one of the fastest in the nation.
