Gas company work to begin on South Side again

South Side residents will have another season of dodging street closings when Equitable Gas Company continues its mainline piping upgrade program in March.

The project will begin as soon as weather permits and will extend through fall. Typical hours for the work will be from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Equitable has called a community meeting to explain the program for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Brashear Center, 2005 Sarah Street.

Streets in South Side scheduled for pipeline replacement work this year include: 13th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, Bingham, Jane and Josephine streets; and, Fox and Wright ways.

Businesses and resident may visit the Equitable Gas website, www.equitablegas.com, for project updates and throughout the spring, summer and fall. In addition, an email newsletter will be sent periodically providing project updates.

An Equitable project supervisor will be available via cell phone to address questions and concerns from customers.
