Drowned Hogs will take the plunge in the Mon Saturday
The Pitts-burrrrgh Drowned Hogs will be making their eighth annual Groundhog Day plunge into the Monongahela River at the boat ramp in South Side Riverfront Park on February 2.
A benefit for the Circle C Youth and Family Services, the Pittsburgh branch of the Drowned Hogs has been helping Punxsutawney Phil predict the arrival of spring and raise money locally since 2006.
There’s no membership fee to join the Pitts-burrrrgh Drowned Hogs, but they ask those wanted to take the plunge to go to Circle C’s website, http://www.circlec.net/, and follow the link to register.
Warm ups begin at 11 a.m. and the plunge takes place at noon.
