Tom Breiding to perform at South Side coffee house

The Coffee House at the South Side Presbyterian Church features singer/songwriter and guitarist Tom Breiding on Friday, Nov. 2 from7:30 – 9 p.m.

Creating and performing professionally since the 1980s, Mr. Breiding has released numerous CDs, including “The Unbroken Circle: Songs of the West Virginia Coalfields,” “Time to Roll,” and “When We Shine” (which is about Pittsburgh). His style has been described as having a “bluegrass” flavor and sometimes reminding one of Woody Guthrie.

Mr. Breiding also plans to tell folks about some of his learnings from Appalachian mission trips. Although known for his solo career, he still enjoys performing with his band, American Son, and with Bill Toms.

The Coffee House is held at the South Side Presbyterian Church at the corner of South 20th and Sarah Streets in South Side. It includes candlelight conversation, creative performers, and refreshments with the suggested donation of $5. For more information, call 412-431-0118.
