On Halloween, the parking lot of the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community will be creeping and crawling with trick-or-treaters and their families.
The parking lot will be transformed into a one-stop candy distribution center. Instead of walking door-to-door, kids can walk from car-to-car. The trunks of minivans and station wagons will serve as front porches, decorated for the season and accompanied by costumed folks handing out candy.
"It's a good opportunity to meet other families from the neighborhood," said the director of children's ministry for the church, Annan McGinley. "In addition to the treats and decorations, we will have fun games for kids and their parents. We hope families will include our Trunk-or-Treat parking lot in their regular trick-or-treat route."
Trunk-or-Treat will be available during regular trick-or-treat hours, from 5:30-7:30pm on Wednesday, Oct. 31 in the parking lot of the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community.
The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is at the corner of 27th and Jane streets in South Side. The 48 and 75 bus lines have stops nearby and parking for cars and bicycles is available on-site. The church can be reached at 412-481-4010, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or on the web at www.hotmetalbridge.com.
