Hilltop neighborhoods celebrate Night Out

This year, several Hilltop neighborhoods will join in with National Night Out (NNO) celebrations tonight, Tuesday, Aug. 7.

In addition to Allentown CDC's annual NNO gathering on at the Allentown Senior Center, other neighborhoods planning events include Beltzhoover, Bon Air and Knoxville.

Allentown CDC's NNO celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Allentown Senior Center, 631 E. Warrington Avenue. Area residents are welcome to come by for free hot dogs, cold soft drinks and activities. There will be a moon bounce for the kids and information for senior citizens.

The Allentown Senior Center will be open and there will be a bake sale inside and the Hilltop United Methodist Church will hold a flea market. All Allentown area residents are welcome to stop by and get to know their neighbors.

Knoxville neighbors and organizations will hold their National Night Out celebration from 4 – 7 p.m. There will be kids' activities, safety information and treats for all.

Activities will take place at the Carnegie Library Knoxville, 400 Brownsville Road, and Hilltop Computer Center, 500 Brownsville Road. The NNO celebration is co-sponsored by the Hilltop Alliance, Knoxville Elder-ado, Carnegie Library Knoxville and the Hilltop Computer Center.

All Bon Air residents are welcome to come to the Gazebo area of Bon Air Parklet between from 5 - 8 p.m. for their Night Out celebration. Refreshments will be provided.

Beltzhoover community groups will be holding NNO activities at various locations in the neighborhood. Details were not available as of press time.
