Citywide public safety meeting has safe youth summer theme

The Zone 2 and Zone 5 Citizens Public Safety Councils, with the support of the Zone 4 command, will host a city-wide public safety meeting for Pittsburgh residents on "Summertime Safety for Youth."

The meeting will cover various city programs and policies to keep city youth safe and out of trouble during the summer, as well as general updates from our Public Safety divisions and a special presentation from the Mayor's Office.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 17 at theTeamster Temple, 4701 Butler Street in Lawrenceville. Refreshments and information tables at 6 p.m. and the presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.

Special presentation topics will include: Blockwatch in a Box - A new program from the Mayor's Office; Police camps and programs for youth; Citiparks youth summer programs; New policy on clearances for sports league coaches; and, Playground and sports field injury prevention.
