MOVEPGH Workshop #2 at IBEW Local #5, 5 Hot Metal Street, is the second of four week-long MOVEPGH public design workshops being held around the city during a six month period.
Each workshop highlights different portions of the City of Pittsburgh. These "design studio" workshops are multi-disciplinary, working design sessions where stakeholders, designers, technical experts, and the public work together to develop, design and plan solutions.
The MOVEPGH team works all week long in a different location for each of the four Workshops to develop and test various design and planning ideas related to: Transportation solutions for areas of change and redevelopment; Expanding multi-modal choice; Developing street designs and complete streets; Creating interlinked bike, pedestrian, transit, and street networks; Protecting areas of no change; Expanding connectivity; and selectively expanding vehicle capacity.
MOVEPGH Community Workshop #2 is focused on transportation issues related to Downtown, Lower Hill, Uptown, South Side Flats, and Second Ave. corridor (PGH Technology Center, ALMONO, and Hazelwood flats). The workshop is open to the public. Join the MOVEPGH team for an open and interactive discussion about walkability, highways, transit, bicycling, and more.
The Workshop #2 Kick-off Event: Describing the week's activities and preliminary findings is on Monday, May 14 from 6-8 p.m.
An Open House will take place over three days where participants can see the MOVEPGH team at work and provide input.
