April 24, 2012

Police are looking for this suspect in the robbery of a drug store on Rt. 51. Anyone recognizing the suspect is asked to call the Robbery Squad at 412-323-7151.

Last Thursday, April 19, Zone 3 Officers were called to the 2500 block of Saw Mill Run Blvd. for a report of a robbery.

Officers spoke with a store employee who provided a description of the suspect. The employee described the suspect as a black male, 18-25 years old, 6'0", with a thin build, dark complexion and wearing a white Polo type shirt with short sleeves, green/brown camo shorts and a tan safari hat.

It was reported the suspect came into the store and purchased two items. When the clerk continued in completing the transaction the man pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol from his waist and stated, "Give me all the money."

The employee said the suspect took a bag from the counter and put an undisclosed amount of cash in the Rite Aid bag before fleeing the store on foot to South on Rt. 51. No one was injured in the robbery and police searched the area but couldn't find the suspect.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident or that can recognize the suspect in the surveillance photo is asked to contact Pittsburgh Police Robbery Squad at 412-323-7151. Callers may remain anonymous.
