Time to write Governor

April 17, 2012

For those who are unaware, Governor Tom Corbett is proposing to eliminate the Accountability Block Grants (ABG) funding.

ABG is used to fund the Early Childhood Program in Pittsburgh. If the grant is eliminated, this will result in the loss of very important educational programs and opportunities for our children.

Last year, we lost 20 classrooms and are in danger of losing all of our classrooms this year. Kindergarten has become a lot harder than previous years.

Without these programs from the ABG grants, children will struggle. Help us give our children the education they deserve.

I am asking for you, your family, your friends and your children themselves to write letters to the governor. If possible, enclose a picture with your letter. Drop off or mail letters to: Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh (Carrick), 1811 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 1210, Attention Dawn S.

All letters must be received by May 15. They will then be forwarded to the governor all at the same time.

Dawn Schutzeus
