Volunteers are still welcome at South Side Clean-up event

April 10, 2012

There are only a few more days left until this Saturday's South Side Spring Clean-up and they are still looking for folks to come help Duquesne student volunteers in sprucing up the neighborhood.

Spring Cleanup is happening this Saturday, April 14. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at the parking lot at 18th and East Carson streets and will run until 10 a.m. Volunteers can pre-register with the PA Resources Council but walk ups are always welcome.

All volunteers will receive bags, gloves, and a clean-up location at registration. Clean-up activities will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 12:30 p.m.

Following the cleanup all volunteers are invited back to the 18th and East Carson streets lot to eat lunch, mingle with neighbors, listen to music, and learn about local organizations. Local restaurant food will be featured.

For more details or to register, call Sarah Alessio Shea at the Pennsylvania Resources Council at 412-488-7490 ext. 236 or email saraha@ccicenter.org.
