Help needed in Hilltop greening project

April 10, 2012

Interested or involved in "greening" the Hilltop? Here's a chance to get involved in planning and jump starting green initiatives – enhanced parks, abundant community gardens, repurposed vacant lots, rideable bike paths, and even more trees.

The Hilltop Alliance Green ToolBox Advisory Group (TAG) is looking for residents and business owners from several communities - Arlington, Arlington Heights, Bon Air, Carrick and Knoxville – to join TAG members from Allentown, Beltzhoover, Mt. Oliver City/St. Clair and Mt. Oliver Borough, to plan and participate in a green assets assessment, help coordinate community meetings, rally residents and property owners, and develop action plans.

Technical support for the Green ToolBox Assessment comes from the Western PA Conservancy and GTECH, with funding provided by the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development. This effort is Phase 1 of a Quality of Life Plan for the Hilltop communities spearheaded by the Hilltop Alliance.

For more information and to get involved contact the Hilltop Alliance at 412-586-5807.
