Good Night States to play after Soup Contest

February 14, 2012

The band Good Night, States will bring their brand of Americana-tinged indie rock to South Side when they perform a free show on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community, beginning at 3 p.m.

"The music will kick off just as the South Side Soup Contest is ending," said the band's keyboardist, Megan Lindsey. "So we hope folks will plan their tour to end up at the church in time to enjoy the show."

The band will be previewing songs from their forthcoming album, Country/Static.

Ms. Lindsey is also co-owner of the gourmet hot dog shop Franktuary, which is competing in the soup contest. Their soup entry will be served from their mobile food truck in front of the church on Jane Street.

The free, all-ages concert will be open to anyone, not just those with tickets to the soup tour.

The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is at the corner of 27th and Jane streets in South Side.
