Lynn Cullen will be the first guest of the year at the regular forum discussion titled "Tony Norman vs." at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26 at the Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community, corner of 27th and Jane streets in South Side.
Ms. Cullen, identified by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette as one of the top 50 power brokers in the city, has been a fixture of television, radio, and print media as a journalist and political commentator since 1981.
Among her honors are an Emmy, four Golden Quills for Journalistic Excellence, and the Printer's Devil Award from Women in Communication for "her ability to see humor in the world and to puncture the pompous among us." She has also been honored by the YWCA for her efforts in confronting racism and bigotry.
Currently, Ms. Cullen hosts "Lynn Cullen Live," a weekday radio talk show, on the Pittsburgh City Paper website.
On Thursday evening, she will sit down with Tony Norman for a cup of tea and a wide-ranging discussion about her career and the current political landscape.
"Tony Norman vs." is a monthly forum discussion in which Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist Tony Norman engages with various leaders and thinkers in the community on a number of topics important to the city of Pittsburgh. The title "Tony Norman vs." and the comic book-style posters used to advertise it are meant to be funny, ‘tongue in cheek' ways of emphasizing the power of rational discussions.
The Hot Metal Bridge Faith Community is located at the corner of 27th and Jane streets in South Side. Parking is available on-site.
